One month ago today I started my first fashion internship at Mexx HQ in Amsterdam. It has been an absolute whirlwind so far and I have learnt a heap of things both in and out of the photo studio. If you are thinking about doing a fashion internship they are an amazing way to get a feel for the reality of the fashion industry which you can relate to what have previously learnt at uni or on your own adventures.
Be prepared to realise that fashion is exactly the same as any other business, there is a lot of admin, chores and organising to do which needs to completed before the fun stuff so you are better off having a heads up before you think working in fashion is easy. Although it may sounds grim don't be put of by this, learning how to use excel spreadsheets and the way businesses work is absolutely essential and once you get the hang of it you have universal skills at your finger tips :)
